This is a special appearance by Rohulamin Quander, who is a member of the Quander family, which can trace their lineage almost 350 years to 17th century colonial Maryland. A branch of the family was enslaved by President George Washington at the Mount Vernon Plantation. Judge Quander’s webinar will cover his family’s roots and expansive branches, which include four U.S. Army generals, two Tuskegee Airmen serving in World War II, and the first national president of the Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority.

Rohulamin Quander is a retired Senior Administrative Law Judge for the District of Columbia. He received his BA and JD from Howard University, is an active member of Omega Psi Phi Fraternity and serves as co-chair for the DC Guild of Professional Tour Guides diversity committee. A native Washingtonian, he can trace his roots locally back to the 1670’s. The Quander family is one of the oldest documented African American families in the country. He is the author of multiple books and founded The Quander Historical and Educational Society Inc. (QHES). His forthcoming publication is a comprehensive, detailed historical account of the internationally known Quander family.
