About the author

Leon Burnette has lived and worked in the Deep South for over 45 years. A native of Los Angeles, Leon has been leading tours around the world for students, adults and A-list performers for over 40 years. His passion for teaching entrepreneurship, sharing black history, and studying the strategies of the civil rights movement began as a member of NAACP Youth council while in high school. He leads programs centered around the Civil Rights Movement and music history for top tour operators as well as his own companies, Civil Rights Trail Tours and MasterClass Tours and Media. He is recognized as a knowledgeable and caring mentor for performers, speakers, and new tour directors. He currently lives in Huntsville, Alabama.
