Cambridge Massachusetts is known by many as an intellectual hub, thanks to its two world-class universities, Harvard and Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT). The city evolved from a farming village in the 1600s to an industrial town, to a city of science and technology innovation today. Throughout Cambridge’s 400-year history, Black people have contributed to the wealth and intellectual capital of the city. On this virtual tour, we’ll learn about the often-overlooked Black History of Cambridge.

Jazz Dottin is a Massachusetts based Program and Marketing Professional. She’s worked in the tourism field for over 10 years, leading tour groups, developing and operating tour itineraries, selling travel packages and more. She’s a graduate of Temple University’s School of Sport, Tourism and Hospitality Management, with a keen interest in sharing the local culture of cities; its people, unique places, and history. With family roots in Cambridge, Boston, and the suburbs of Massachusetts, Jazz was moved to launch a YouTube Series this year called Black Gems Unearthed, to help people learn and understand the Black History of the state.
