An exploration of the African-American troop contributions during the Normandy Campaign that helped to free a continent, but have been written out of history. WWII was a vehicle of liberation for African-Americans, Normandy was the culmination of that struggle. For them, it was a giant step on the long walk to freedom for Europe and for themselves.

Speaker

Justin McCulloch is a rising Junior at The George Washington University. Justin serves as Senior Editor for the GW Historical Review and Executive Vice President of Phi-Chi Chapter of Phi Alpha Theta History Honor Society. He is also a guide with D.C.-based company, Historic America, and a Research Assistant at the Eleanor Roosevelt Paper’s Project.
