Alexandria & Mount Vernon

Finally, a book focused on Alexandria and Mount Vernon!

These two sites are visited by countless student and adult groups each year, and yet we sometimes fall into the trap of repeating the same information about George Washington, and the same three fun facts about Alexandria. These books will change your perceptions of both places. Written by Leigh Jameson and edited by Mitch Bach, this book dives into the complex and complicated past of Mount Vernon plantation, and Alexandria, the third largest slave trading port in the country. As a result, your storytelling will improve and you’ll have the tools to wow your guests with new insights and walking tours of both locations!

As with all TripSchool books, the format is easy-to-digest bullet points and bold text, making it easy to comprehend and then share with your own personal style. The information is place-based, meaning you’ll also know where to share what you learn, to make your tours come alive in new ways!
