Join TripSchool and Civil Rights educator & expert Leon Burnette for this very powerful 3-day immersive training through some of the major sites on the U.S. Civil Rights Trail.
Leon is a Civil Rights expert educator, and both a tour director and operator familiar with these routes. Based in Huntsville, Alabama, Leon also directs TripSchool’s Diversity Project and runs a non-profit focused on mentoring youth in future careers in the tourism industry.

11/7 • Atlanta Pre-Day

This is for people who can make a flight work in the mornings, and want to have an afternoon city tour, meet the group, and stay together in a hotel where we’ll leave from the next morning.

11/10 • Birmingham to Atlanta via Anniston

  • We’ll begin our return to Atlanta today, with some stops along the way.
  • Talladega Superspeedway in Lincoln, AL
  • Freedom Riders National Monument in Anniston, AL, remembering the 1961 bus burning and the former Greyhound station.
  • Final Presentation & Group Discussion on various topics
  • 1PM drop at Atlanta airport (for those departing after the tour)
  • 1:30PM drop at Loews Hotel (for those attending the IATDG TourConnect conference)

    The covid-19 pandemic is an ongoing and evolving situation. We will communicate our current TripSchool requirements for travel, plus abide by any local, state or federal requirements in place.

  • Travel Insurance
    We highly recommend protecting your investment with travel insurance. After paying your deposit, you’ll be offered the chance to purchase a policy through Travelex. This policy is sold and administered separately from TripSchool.
